Tuesday, September 12, 2006 Development of Backward Areas and Incentive Package for Special Category States The Government of India has been supplementing the efforts of State Governments for accelerating the industrial development of backward areas and special category states through various policies and packages of incentives. The schemes being currently implemented to encourage disbursal of industries include Growth Centre and Transport Subsidy Scheme.
